Happy Birthday Audriana!

Sunday morning around 4:30 AM I woke up with contractions about 10-20 minutes apart, I thought, FINALLY! They did get more intense throughout the day and finally around 7 PM or so they were 5-7 minutes apart so we headed to the hospital... With my luck, I had bad contraction in the ER waiting for the charge nurse to take me to Labor & Delivery-- and that was the last we saw of contractions while we were at the hospital that night! Ugh, I was so frustrated!! Almost as soon as I got home they started back up again, but once again nearly twenty minutes apart.

Throughout the day on Monday my contractions were closer but never the 3-5 minutes apart they want you to entirely have before heading into L&D. Sometime in the evening it reached the 3-5 timing and we headed back to St. Francis (round 2...) Once there they hooked me up to monitors to keep track of the contractions and baby's heart rate. My Dr was on call and she had me hooked up to an IV and they gave me a pain medicine... not sure which one... but it wasn't any less than about five minutes before I asked if the medicine was supposed to put me to sleep--- because I was about to just pass out! When I woke up a couple of hours later my contractions had slowed again but the nurse had said they would probably keep me over night-- but about fifteen minutes after said Dr. Hicks would rather discharge me so I could get something to eat and sleep in my own bed. We left the hospital around 7- Ran to my aunt Debbie's since she had stuff for the baby, and went home. Around 8:30 my contractions were once again close together but I had decided to wait it out a little longer so I wouldn't get to the hospital and get sent home again!!

From 11 PM-1 AM the contractions were only getting worse so we went to the hospital, same routine-- IV & Pain med-- SLEEP... slowing of contractions... FUSTRATION! Around 7 AM Dr. Hicks came in to check on me and stated they would probably send me home... but when she checked to see if I had finally dilated she was shocked I was at 4CM. She decided then & there to just go ahead and break my water. About an hour later I had an epidural. Sadly it didn't work as well as I thought it was supposed to. Apparently, it only takes away "pain" not "pressure" -- sucks when your pain is the pressure!! They came in and gave me an extra dose of the epidural and after that all I fully remember is crying, and breathing- Time went by so fast I didn't know what time it was.

Around 11:15 AM I told the nurse I felt like I needed to push and she checked me and said I was only at an 8CM- about five minutes later I stated I HAD to push. She checked again and was like... okay. Let me get the Dr -- The nurse started to let me push but kept making me stop, or trying- because I couldn't stop. After a few minutes the four nurses in the room started asking where the Dr. was -- Well, it would have been nice if one of the four would have told her!!

Thankfully my dry rushed in and I heard her say "I told you if you see a head to call me, do you see a head? I'm in regular clothes and still have to get changed!" About a minute later she was back, had me push - and trust me- I did... Out came baby and I remember Michael telling me to push again and I just said "No, I'm done" and a few seconds later they laid Audriana on me! Michael didn't even know I had had her yet!! After about two or three minutes the nurses took her away to get her cleaned up - Michael got a few videos of Audriana being cleaned and taken care of in the L&D room.

Minutes after she was born a nurse came to me and told me they would have to take her to the nursery right away, she was having trouble breathing - She was inhaling perfectly but was having trouble exhaling. In the videos I later was able to see and hear what they had meant.

All together I was in labor for only three hours and fifty-three (four?) minutes. My Dr. was very impressed that I had my beautiful baby girl so quickly - only two weeks before we thought I would have to have a C-section - and she was really impressed at how fast I actually had her, I was pinned as one that would be in labor for the entire day.

Around 1:20 PM I finally got my baby back. Around the same time Michael's mom had come to visit so the two of them went to get lunch while I fed my precious baby girl and spent time with her. Not too long after Granny Parker, Christie, and Stacy had all come to visit-- annnd the nurses took Audriana away for a bath! Around 4:30 they brought her back and also decided to move me out of L&D and into my room.

It was an eventful day and I love my baby girl more than ANYTHING in this world. She is such a well behaved baby. She sleeps, eats, poops, and keeps the crying at the minimum! She even sleeps through the vacuum and makes the cutest faces!

Where oh where to start...

Wow, it has really been a while since I have done anything to update our blog, and so much has been going on lately. I guess to start out a little up date on the baby situation.

I am currently 29 weeks pregnant and had my last doctor's appointment this past Tuesday. So far I have only gained six pounds which I am proud of. People at work like to get on me saying I'm not eating enough or I'm doing this or that wrong, I wish they would step off... I haven't done things my doctor said I couldn't. Both the baby and I am healthy. The baby has grown a lot over the past month and a half. Currently she is measuring big for 29 weeks- I have an ultrasound on Sept. 21st to follow up more on that. Also since the last post I had a mini baby shower which was more so a hang out to see a couple of my friends before the left the state to go to school or to just make a change in their lives. We had a good time - had a few fun games and I got some great gifts. :)

On other aspects of life things have been pretty stressful over the past two weeks. My lease at the loft I live at was supposed to end Sept 21st and like a responsible adult made arrangements to move in to another place on Sept 20th... needless to say I went to the leasing office to find my pro-rated rent amount since we are leaving on the 21st only to be told we never turned in a 90 day notice and we would be stuck here at the least for another 90 days. This really put both my nerves and Michael's over the edge... we wrote a letter to the president of the company stating that on July 7th we had received a lease renewal notice but it had wrong information on it and I provided a call record where it shows over the next 24 hours I called 11 times to the leasing office to correct their mistake. The property manager gave me a call back, fixed the date on their information from Sept 30th to what the lease said as Sept 21st -- and also verified several times that we did not want to renew. She said she updated the records and would send it to us. She never did, but in the end they  have stated it's not their obligation to even remind us or to send that lease renewal out, they only do it to be polite.. ( yeah right! ) I also made a few other complaints about things that had gone on over the past year that we were here.

The best they said they could do is let us out of the lease on Oct 31st- rather than Nov 30th, but I contacted the property manager who said if we can find someone to take over sooner than we can still possibly be out of this lease and loft by Sept 21st. I have the loft on craigslist and have also requested the leasing office show our loft to people who come in interested in the property ( they have yet to show...) I had one response so far to the craigslist ad from a guy who wants to view the loft on Sept 13th and move in by the 16th! I hope this works out- I have sent him the application and the fee was waived by the property manager- I have no problem being homeless for a few days my Granny has already offered Michael and I a place to sleep for those few days and I guess I will fill my moms garage up for a week before the other lease starts!! Please keep your fingers crossed and us in your prayers that this works out for us... I really dont know what we will do if we are to pay for both places in October--- it's not something we have the finances for at the moment.

That's mainly whats been going on recently- We've been stressed over the loft situation and are hoping that this really works out for us ASAP. I will post more on the loft situation and after the ultrasound on the 21st!

As of lately...

Over the past week a couple of great things have happend! Michael started a new job at the Silver Diner as a waiter. He has been going through training but is about to start on the floor tomorrow night. Bring on the tips! LOL.

Also we had the down syndrome testing done yesterday. It was fun getting to see the little baby for a nice little while. We probably had about twenty or so minutes where we saw the baby on a big screen. While the tech was trying to get all the measurements the baby wasn't straightend out enough so the tech bounced the baby around a bit... it was pretty silly to see the baby have a little fit. The baby would kick around and scooch around...and go back to the exact same position. BLISS!

The tech also took a 4-d real time picture of the baby as well, to me it's kind of creepy looking right now, but in the future I really think it will be very cool. I didn't ask for the photo nor was I asked if I wanted it.. so hopefully they will not bill for it! :)

All Day Sickness!

Lately I have been feeling very sick, almost everyday, all day! I have two anti-nausea medicines zofran, and phenergan. I prefer phenergan, but it has me asleep for at least 12-14 hours at a time and even then it's hard to shake it and finally wake up for another 12 or so hours. The zofran has been helping enough for me eat breakfast or something in the morning but by lunch time I feel awful again.

I have my next appointment on Monday May 17th. In the morning I have to go to have the down syndrome testing done. My doctor's nurse explained to me this will mainly be just ultrasounds to study the baby and to take measurements of the babys neck. I already did the bloodwork for this not too long ago.

I'm excited to see my baby again it's been nearly a month!! Hopefully next time I post I can add more pictures!

We're Pregnant!!

On March 31, 2010 We found out that we are going to be having a baby and are due on Thanksgiving! We are so exctied. Most people don't know that we had a miscarriage in Nov 2009, which was devestating.

Over the past few weeks we have also got to spend time with Melissa who is also going to be having a baby soon! She is due at the begining of October so it was nice to have someone around who is going through the same thing. Sadly she is now back in Washington and we probably wont see her until we are both mommies!

Here are the newer ultrasound pictures from Aprl 19, 2010 at 8 weeks and 4 days.
